This half-day program offers a fundamental overview of the benefits of resistance training and how to get started. Participants will want to consider also attending the Healthy Weight Loss and Management program as a foundation from which to build as nutrition is a key factor in resistance work. Participants will:
Learn the basic anatomy and physiology of movement
Outline primal movement requirements of organisms
Identify safe techniques when starting a resistance program
Identify the benefits of resistance training over time
Identify the overall health benefits of resistance training
Understand how to approach resistance training as an adjunct to a healthy lifestyle
